These terms apply to all orders placed with Smith Bros (Hebburn & Jarrow) Ltd, trading as Smith Bros Printers. By placing an order you agree to these terms.
Pricing
- All prices shown on the website are in GBP and exclude VAT at 20%, unless stated otherwise.
- VAT is added at checkout and shown clearly before you confirm your order.
- Prices are subject to change without notice. The price at the time of order confirmation is the price you pay.
- The minimum order value is £25 excluding VAT.
- Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise.
Artwork & Files
- Preferred file formats: PDF, AI, EPS, SVG. We also accept PNG, JPG, and TIFF at 300dpi minimum resolution.
- Maximum file size: 50MB per file.
- All artwork should include 3mm bleed on all edges for products that are trimmed.
- We will check your artwork and notify you of any issues before printing. We are not responsible for errors in customer-supplied artwork that were not flagged during our check.
- If you use our template builder, the design you see on screen is a preview only. Colours may vary slightly in print.
- We reserve the right to refuse to print content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes copyright.
Turnaround
- Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from artwork approval, unless stated otherwise on the product page.
- Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees. We will notify you of any delays.
- Rush orders are available at +50% on the standard price, subject to availability. Call us to arrange.
- Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Payment
- Online orders: payment is taken at the time of order via our secure payment provider.
- In-shop orders: payment is due on collection unless agreed otherwise.
- Account customers: payment terms are 30 days from invoice date, by prior arrangement only.
- We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, and cash (in-shop only).
Delivery
- Collection from our shop at 44 Glen Street, Hebburn, NE31 1NU is free.
- UK mainland delivery: flat £14.00 excluding VAT, free on orders over £75 (ex VAT).
- Delivery times are in addition to the production turnaround time.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier once the order has been dispatched.
Reprints & Returns
- If we make an error in printing (wrong content, wrong stock, poor print quality), we will reprint the order at no charge.
- Claims must be made within 7 days of receiving the order, with photos of the issue.
- Because printed products are made to order, we cannot offer refunds for change of mind.
- If you supplied artwork with errors that were not flagged during our check, we may offer a reprint at a reduced price at our discretion.
- Minor colour variations between screen and print are normal and not grounds for a reprint. Screens display colour using RGB (red, green, blue light), while printing uses CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black ink). This means some on-screen colours cannot be reproduced exactly in print.
Copyright & Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of any artwork, logos, and content you provide to us.
- By placing an order, you confirm that you have the right to use all content provided.
- We may retain copies of your artwork for the purpose of reprints (see our Privacy Policy).
- Designs created using our template builder are for your use only and may not be resold as design templates.
Liability
Our liability for any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from late delivery, print errors, or any other issue. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website at the time of your order is the version that applies.
